Brightside in Toledo Currently Enrolling for Free Head Start Programs!

Brightside Academy’s Toledo locations are currently enrolling for the Early Head Start and Head Start programs for the fall! The purpose of these programs is to prepare children ages 0 to 5 years old for school readiness. The Early Head Start program is for children ages 0 to 3. Early Headstart provides safe and developmentally enriching care giving which promotes the physical, cognitive, social and emotional development of infants and toddlers. It also prepares them for future growth and development. Head Start is a kindergarten readiness program for ages 3 to 5. Head Start promotes children’s school readiness in five important ways:

1. Language and Literacy
2. Cognition
3. Approaches to Learning
4. Physical Development and Health
5. Social and Emotional Development

Both programs provide children and their families with health, nutrition and social services and are absolutely free! Acceptance into these programs are based on income eligibility. To apply for the program for this fall bring the following information to your closest Toledo location ASAP to secure a spot for your child!

1. A completed application
2. Proof of income for the last twelve months
3. Child’s birth certificate

If the child is selected for the program, before the child starts you will need to bring the following:

1. Immunization history
2. Medical and dental cards (if available)
3. Custody orders (if applicable)

Within 30 days of entry we will need:

1. Child’s most recent physical exam record
