Payroll Change

UPCOMING PAYROLL CHANGES

FOR BRIGHTSIDE ACADEMY EMPLOYEES

Exciting news! BSA payroll processing is transitioning to a new service – ADP Workforce Now.  The transition is already in progress and should be completed by October 31, 2018. ADP offers access to enhanced features and services that will highly benefit both employees and managers. Our teams are installing new time clocks at your location that we will begin testing and using very soon!

This page will be used as our communication. As questions come in or more information is available, this page will be updated; check back often to see what’s new!

The main change is that the PHL team will be paid on opposite weeks than what is currently in place.

* How do we do this and what is the IMPACT

Philadelphia Employees:

  • 9/28 – 2-week pay on the regular pay week
  • This is the first week – the transition, on the NEW cycle

* Introducing Pay Card

BSA will be going Paperless! For those who did prefer to receive an actual paper paycheck, we are excited to offer a new option – Pay Cards (printed checks will no longer be an option).  With a Pay Card, you will not be burdened with weather delays and/or carrier delays in getting your paper check to you!

The Pay Card is a pre-loaded Visa payment card.  It is not a credit card, your paycheck will be loaded to the card each pay cycle. The card may be used as follows:

  • Quick cash access with fee-free withdrawals from thousands of ATMs and banks nationwide plus cash-back from retailers and checkbook for any paper check needs.
  • Spending power to shop, pay bills, transfer funds to bank accounts, make peer-to-peer transactions and mobile purchases through digital wallet functionality (Google Pay® and Apple Pay®)
  • Single location for all funds, including additional income, tax refunds, child support payments and more
  • Financial management including online and mobile account access
  • Family-member cards may also be ordered, for those who wish to share access to their biweekly pay

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  1. Will this impact Direct Deposit? No.
  2. Will I get two W2s? We are working towards this, more information to come.
  3. Why does PHL get paid for only one week on 10/5? Employees would have had to wait 3 weeks for a new paycheck in the new system. We decided to do a one week pay so employees can receive income in between the transition.
  4. Will there be any deductions, like insurance from the 10/5 check? No.
  5. Why is PHL getting paid on 10/31? Employees in PHL are being paid for a week on 10/5 and two weeks on 10/19 and we wanted to be sure they received a minimum of an entire month pay in the month of October, so we moved the pay date to 10/31 to help with any monthly obligations.
  6. Will there be training on the time clocks? Yes.
  7. Are the time clocks biometric/finger scanning? Yes.
  8. I have more questions, who can I contact? After reading these questions, if you have any additional concerns contact Amy Labosco at alabosco@bsaece.com.

NOTE: Just a reminder to the PHL team, if you have automatic payments coming out of your bank account, you may need to adjust the date of the deduction due to the change in payroll, as the week you are paid has changed.
