Pre-K Offerings Expanded in Partnership with Pittsburgh Public Schools and McKeesport Area School District

Brightside Academy announced it was granted 60 new seats to provide free Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts early childhood education program beginning March 1, 2016.

The locations receiving the new seats include the organization’s sites at 4 Smithfield Street, Pittsburgh and 415 Lysle Boulevard, McKeesport.

The program offers a full-day kindergarten readiness curriculum, daily meals and snacks, and care from qualified, passionate teachers. Families with children enrolled in Brightside Academy’s Pre-K Counts program also receive assistance with social services, health and dental providers and community resources.

Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts is available at no cost to eligible families and services children 3- to 5-years-old. Families qualifying for this program may earn up to 300 percent of the poverty level (family of four with gross income of $72,750).
